Arrive at Keflavík Airport and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel in central Reykjavík. After check-in, head to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, located in a lava field near Grindavík. Relax in steam caves, apply a silica mud mask, or sip a drink from the in-water bar as you unwind. Explore Iceland’s legendary Golden Circle, beginning at Thingvellir National Park, where the world’s oldest parliament was founded in 930 and since the parliament first convened in 930, the walls of the surrounding canyon have drifted further apart, pulled by the tectonic plates that diverge here. Continue to Geysir, a geothermal field of steaming fumaroles and erupting geysers—don’t miss Strokkur’s dramatic bursts every 15 minutes. After a lunch of regional specialties, visit Gullfoss, a magnificent two-tiered waterfall plunging into a narrow gorge. Return to Reykjavík and spend the evening discovering the city’s vibrant culinary scene on your own, from cozy bistros to cutting-edge Nordic cuisine.
